Shop Local and Salsify both provide a platform for brands, distributors and retailers. Yet, they are differences in what they offer, and due to this businesses will often use both Salsify and Shop Local. Salsify and Shop Local help business accomplish different goals and due to this they not competitors.

How Shop Local is unlike Salsify:

• Shop Local offers front facing e-commerce software to brands and retailers. Salsify does not. Brands and retailers may use Shop Local Store software. There is no ‘Salsify store’ software that business can use to sell to the general public.
• Salsify is middle man to help brands, distributors, and retailers in an existing relationship with each other. Shop Local does this, too, such as via its Product Syncing service. Shop Local also offers business new growth opportunities, including the ability for brands to search for new retailers and for retailers to find new brands.  
• Shop Local offers a brands an account that lets retailers place wholesale orders with them. Salsify does not.  Salsify is not a wholesale ordering platform.
