What Is The Brand Syncing Service?

Brand Syncing is a marketing service to help your retailers sell more of your brands' products. Your brands can share products with your retailers in real-time.

Your retailers can use these Synced products to power their websites and gift registries. Your brands control how the products appear and are organized on your retailers' online stores.

Currently, 113 brands share 73,077 products with 1,485 retailers' online stores.

You can sign up your store for Shop Local and Brand Syncing. A retailer can sync with products for free. The retailer also receives a free Shop Local Store, online gift registry software, and many other tools to help it sell online.

FAQ

How will you make more money with Shop Local?
You make more in commission because retailers sell 18% on average more due to Shop Local (Read the case study here).

How will a sale be made?

  1. The consumer purchases an item on a retailer's Shop Local Store. The retailer receives an email notification about this order.
  2. The retailer looks at its inventory. If it has the item in stock, it ships what is in stock. If the item is not in stock, the retailer will place the order with you or the brand, whichever is your existing protocol with the retailer.

Does a Syncing Brand have to drop-ship?
No, a Syncing Brand does not have to drop-ship to participate. If a brand drop-ships, then a retailer may ask the brand to drop-ship an order. If the brand does not drop-ship, they will mail the item to the retailer, and then the retailer will mail it to the customer.

How does the Syncing service deal with minimum order requirements?
If a retailer has an order in hand and it does not have the item in stock, it will first assess if the order is over the minimum reorder amount. If it's over the minimum reorder amount, the retailer may place the order as a drop-ship. If the order is under the minimum, the retailer may decide if there are additional products it would like to order. To meet the minimum requirement, the retailer may order more products to fulfill the Bridge order as well as stock its store.

How Does A Sales Rep Start Using Shop Local?

  1. Sign-up online for a free account.
  2. Add the brands that you rep to your account using the Brand Directory.
  3. Sync with your brands that use the Brand Syncing service. This service is free. There is no charge for a rep to sync products.
  4. Add your products (optional).

How Does a Rep Sign Up a Retailer?

  1. Please send this link to the retailer: www.shoplocal.org/retailer-overview
  2. Please get the retailer's approval to sign it up for a free Shop Local account.
  3. Once you have the store's approval, please visit the online sign-up form designed for reps. Please find the sign up form here:

  4. Please complete the one-page sign up form and submit it. Shop Local will then send the retailer their login information and include you in communication with your referred retailer.
