A retailer wrote me today asking how to use Chalkboard. Please find our Q & A below:
Retailer: We haven't taken advantage of using our Chalkboard feature and think it would be great. Could you let me know what the best way to use it is?
Bridge: We recommend using Chalkboard the same way as you use Facebook. It's for public and private use. In your business' case, it will most likely be used to share public information with the public. You want to use Chalkboard over Facebook for a few reason: + Chalkboard is built into your site. Facebook is not. + Chalkboard helps your Google ranking for your online store. Facebook doesn't directly help your store's ranking. + Facebook puts tracking code on all your visitors. This helps them promote competitors' advertisements.
Retailer: Is it best to post original information or repost other's info?
Bridge: We recommend posting original content. You can also copy things from Facebook and paste them into Chalkboard or vice versa.
Retailer: Is Chalkboard just for customers who log on to our website?
Bridge: Anyone that goes to your site can see your Chalks (assuming you leave the box "Public" checked when you add a Chalk). One does not need a Bridge account nor to login to see your Chalkboard posts. Chalking is good for your Google ranking. You want to create content on your site so Google can index this content and send customers to you.
