In a TotalRetail blog post, Rajat Jain, a CEO of a steel marketplace, shares compelling reasons why B-2-B commerce is growing. His reasons include:
Mobile Phones. Technology is now more widespread and accepted. For example, we now have more powerful mobile phones.
Cost. Creating technology is now cheaper. Brands can now more quickly offer powerful B-2-B wholesale solutions.
The group is smarter than the individual. There is a 'snow ball' effect with B-2-B marketplaces. We want to be part of a larger community that shares information (e.g. reviews, etc.) and the collective power of this marketplace will always be greater than individual sales person.
Retirement. Young people are taking over retiring people's jobs each year--and young people want to use technology. They grew up on Facebook and don't like faxes.
