I am thrilled with Pantone's 2017 “color of the year”! Through color, Pantone sees "Greenery" as a return to nature and a rejuvenation in its own right.
Of course, variations of Greenery have been popular in the past, most notably in the psychedelic 1960’s and 1970's. It also gives a nod to the growing movement towards organic farming, nature and environmental concerns that are so popular.
Greenery is nature’s neutral. A great harmonizer merging undertones of cool blues with vibrant yellows, Greenery is prevalent in stones akin to Peridot. Like the spectrum of possibilities in colorful petals and blooms paired with lush green leaves, plants and trees, Greenery provides a pop of color as an accent stone in jewelry, or in bold patterns.
Illustrative of flourishing foliage and the lushness of the great outdoors, the fortifying attributes of Greenery signals individuals to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate.
