February 8, Monday, 6:00 p.m. Rock N’ Roll Julie Kensell and Andrew Stock, $48.00 Sushi style. This class will provide a unique opportunity to learn about sushi making including an exceptional knife skills demonstration. You will also have the opportunity to make your own roll. They will show how to assemble the rolls from start to finish including the prep for crab and tuna. After we complete that part of the class we will move on to the Japanese technique of pickling and braising vegetables. On the menu: Cali and Soy joy rolls with accompanying sauces; Japanese pickled cucumbers and Braised daikon radishes. We’ll provide something sweet for you to enjoy as we finish the evening.

February 15, Monday, 6:00 p.m. Chilean Food and Wine Terri Geiser, $48.00 In this class we will enjoy food and wines from Chile. On the menu: Ensalada Chilena - Chilean Tomato and onion salad with an avocado dressing and blue cheese crumbles; Milanesa, a traditional breaded fried steak with Chimichurri sauce; Pollo Borracho, a luscious chicken dish that gains its richness from a sauce of shallots and brandy all simmered in Sauvignon Blanc and for dessert, Leche Asada, a sweet, cinnamon-lemon custard, Chile's answer to the crème brulee. These dishes will be paired with a Chilean Sauvignon Blanc, a Red Blend and a simply charming Pinot Noir.

You don’t need extensive knowledge to enjoy drinking wine, but having a deeper understanding about the varietal and where it is grown will give you a better appreciation wine. In this workshop you will be provided the opportunity to taste 6 wines. We will talk about color, aromas, style, body and taste. If you want more confidence when purchasing and drinking wines these few simple tips will help provide a basis for enjoying wine. The wines will be paired with food bites so that we can explore why some pairings work and some don’t. It is important to remember that each person brings their own palate and it will be exciting to share with others in the class, remembering that food and wine is a matter of TASTE!
