Coronavirus has resulted in a national shutdown, with many companies shifting to having at least some employees permanently working from home. People ended up spending most of their days at home during the week and, having nowhere to go due to the shutdown, on the weekends. Having a more intimate relationship with their domiciles, appears to have encouraged people to have an increased interest in decorating the place where they're now spending most of their time.
RH, formerly known as Restoration Hardware, has reported an elevated demand for home decor which they expect to carry through 2021. With the economy recovering and people going back to work, core demand has increased by as much as 47% in August. "There’s clearly, you know, a consumer shift that’s happening and you know people are holed up at home.
