New Feature: Registrants Can Promote Your Store via Text Message 📲

Registrants can click the "See Details & Invite Friend" link to refer your store's registry service to a friend.

The "Help a Friend" modal is pre-populated with the registrant's name and a message to their friend. The registrant will enter their friend's phone number to send the referral message to.

The friend will receive a text from our software with the registrant's name, the message from the registrant, a link to your store's "Create a Gift Registry" page, and a referral bonus.

New Feature: Registrants Can Promote Your Store via Text Message 📲

Your Shop Local Store has a new feature: Registrants can now invite friends to open a registry at your store. The new "Help a Friend" feature on registry lists allows registrants to send a text message to their friends with an invitation to open a registry.

In the example shown, we see a registry list at Luxury Gift Shop. In the "Help a Friend" box, the registrant can click the "See Details & Invite Friend" link to refer their friend to your registry service.

Clicking this link opens a modal with:
  • The registrant's name.
  • A message to their friend. By default, the message will be pre-populated with "Hi, I'm receiving gifts from friends & family via my gift registry at [Your Store's Name].  Open a wedding registry there and you can receive gifts, too.  I recommend it.  Thank you :)" The registrant can personalize the message if they wish.
  • A "Mobile Telephone Number" field where the registrant will enter their friend's number.

Once the modal has been filled out, the registrant will click the "Invite Your Friend" button. Our software will then send a text message to the registrant's friend.

The text message includes:
  • The registrant's name.
  • The message from the registrant.
  • A link to your store's "Create a Gift Registry" page.
  • A referral bonus. When the registrant's friend opens a new registry, the friend and the registrant will receive a gift credit at your store. This credit is your store's registry sign-up bonus, split evenly between the registrant and their friend.

Please note:
  • This feature is only shown to registrants if your store does not offer a registry sign-up bonus.
  • If your store offers a sign-up bonus, this feature will be hidden on registry lists.
  • This feature is currently in a soft launch but will soon be available for stores that offer a sign-up bonus.
  • You may review your registry incentives in your Gift Registry Settings.
