What can be customized:
- Top header
You can customize your header layout style. The two options are Fact Based or Traditional.
To customize your header layout, please follow these steps:
1. Log in to your Shop Local account.
2. At the top of the page, hover over Management and under My Business Profile, click Design & Customization.
3. On the Design Settings page, you can edit your header layout.
Your two options are:
Fact Based ~ Leads with Statistics (Recommended):
Shows your business name or logo on the left, search in the middle, and statistics (number of products, etc.) on right.
Traditional:
Shows your business name or logo in the center, telephone on the left, and search field on the right (no statistics).
4. Click Save Your Changes.

To update your company logo shown in the header, please follow these steps:
1. Log in to your Shop Local account.
2. At the top of the page, hover over Management and under My Business Profile, click Profile Home.
3. In the Company Logo section on the General Business Setting page, click Browse, then upload the image that you wish to display at the top of your account.
4. Click Save Your Changes.

- Header font and background color
To customize your font and color, please follow these steps:
1. Log in to your Shop Local account.
2. At the top of the page, hover over Management and under My Business Profile, click Design & Customization.
3. On the Design Settings page, you can edit your Shop Local site font and color.
Your header font will be applied to:
- Statistics in upper right
- Horizontal navigation header links (Home, Designers, etc.)
- Header text on pages
- Your business name in upper left (if no logo added)
You can customize the following colors:
- Header Background Color
- Header Text and Link Color
- Horizontal Navigation Background Color
- Horizontal Navigation Link Color
- Site-wide Link Color
- Site-wide Link Color: Roll-over
4. Click Save Your Changes.

- Images and Slides
A. Add photos of your store to the slide show on your home page. Use photos of your store inside and out to show your customers what you look like.

To update your store/showroom images, please follow these steps:
1. Log in to your Shop Local account.
2. At the top of the page, hover over Management and under My Business Profile, click Profile Home.
3. In the Store/Showroom Images section on the General Business Setting page, click Browse, then upload the image that you wish to display at the top of your account.
4. Click Save Your Changes.

B. If you have a brand that is unique to your store or a product line or service that you want to highlight, you can create a slide for that.
To update your slides, please follow these steps:
1. Log in to your Shop Local account.
2. At the top of the page, click Management.
3. On the Management Home Page under My Business Profile, click Slide Manager.
4. On the Slide Manager page, click Add Home Page Slide.
5. Once you upload the desired slide, click Save Your Changes.

C. Slides can be changed frequently. Show holiday sales, seasonal events, and more.
D. Your slides be linked directly to a page on your website. Visit the Slide Manager page when you are logged in for directions on how to do this. To update a URL for a slide, please email Shop Local at support@bridge.org

E. Technical specs:
Slides are 1954 pixels wide by 620 pixels high. We ask that you make them to these dimensions. If you do not have the capabilities to make them, please send us the images you want and we will do it for you. Email Shop Local for help with creating slides: support@bridge.org
- Whether you offer gift cards
On the gift card page, you can add a custom picture of what your gift card looks like.
- Your social media accounts
You can output your social media accounts. For each account you add to Shop Local, we output the social media platform's logo.
Your can enter your social media accounts on the General Business Settings page.
- Your address and telephone number
You can customize this on the General Business Settings page.
- Your store's description/about text
You can customize this on the General Business Settings page.
- Custom header quick links
You can customize this on the Design Settings page.
- Your featured new items
- Your Newsfeed
You can customize your home page layout style. The two options are Newsfeed or Segmented.
To customize your home page layout, please follow these steps:
1. Log in to your Shop Local account.
2. At the top of the page, hover over Management and under My Business Profile, click Design & Customization.
3. On the Design Settings page, you can edit your home page layout.
Your two options are:
Newsfeed (Recommended):
A chronological output of new registry sign ups, anniversary reminders, positive reviews, and news.
Segmented:
A List of brands your store offers, up to 2 recent registry anniversaries, and up to 2 recent new products.
4. Click Save Your Changes.

A. You can create news posts about your store and share them on your Newsfeed. If you "feature" a post, this will be similar to Facebook’s anchoring or “pinning” a post to the top position. Using this feature, your customers will see your store’s branded content. Up to 6 posts can be featured in descending order from the top of the page. (The downside of this, is that your customers will not see the vendor created posts in the Newsfeed until they scroll down further.)

B. Your Newsfeed shows featured purchases made on your site. You can disable this feature on the General Business Settings page.
C. Your Newsfeed congratulates couples that just registered at your store. You can customize this on the Registry Settings page.
Why does Shop Local have a Newsfeed when other stores don’t?
This shows Google that your site is active. There is an ever-changing content stream in the form of recent sales (social proof), product likes (social proof), vendor posts, store news and events and registry announcements that signals to Google to “crawl” or index THIS site over a site that is not changing its content. This is why Shop Local sites consistently show up highly in Google search results.
