We’re delighted to welcome Betty Kelly’s Gift Shop to the Shop Local family! Referred by Janine Irwin of MacKenzie-Childs, a valued Syncing Brand partner, the store joined Shop Local to grow its online tabletop and bridal registry business.
With 48 years in the industry, this beloved independent retailer has long been known as the go-to destination for wedding registries in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
The store’s story began in the home of Nettie Huffines, grandmother of current owner Frances Morketter. Mrs. Huffines started the business by selling Sheffield silver and beautiful bridal gifts to local brides. Her home quickly became a trusted destination where families shopped for wedding and anniversary gifts—and where brides learned that something special was always waiting inside Mrs. Huffines’ signature silver-striped boxes.

Betty Kelly’s Gift Shop is a fourth-generation bridal registry and gift shop with deep roots in the Fayetteville community.
In 1978, Nettie Huffines’ daughter, Betty Kelly, moved the family business from her home into a small storefront on Arsenal Avenue, naming it The Gift Shop. In 1982, the store relocated to 1110 Hay Street, where it remained a beloved shopping destination for 37 years before moving in February 2016 to its current location at 1228 Fort Bragg Road.
Betty Kelly expanded the business by introducing many fine china lines and staying closely attuned to evolving bridal trends. She also built a strong stationery department featuring on-site printing and a wide selection of bridal invitation albums.
After Betty was diagnosed with cancer in 2002, her daughter Frances Morketter began assisting with the business and eventually took over daily operations. Following Betty’s passing in 2004, Frances honored her legacy by officially renaming the store Betty Kelly’s Gift Shop.
Today, the shop continues its tradition of helping couples celebrate life’s most meaningful moments while staying current with the ever-evolving bridal registry market.
