Shop Local analyzed the websites for top selling brands in the tabletop and giftware industries. We noticed a common trend among these websites: a pop-up window offering a discount for signing up for a newsletter.
35% of the top 20 brands offer a discount for signing up for a newsletter. The discounts offered range from 10-20% off, and the only requirement is that a customer enters their email address to receive emails from the brand.

If you wish to offer a discount on your Shop Local Store for signing up for a newsletter, please follow these steps:
- Log in to your Shop Local account.
- Hover over Management at the top of the page. From the drop-down menu, under "Business Profile & Settings," click Online Catalog & Store.
- In the "Newsletter Sign Up & Incentive Discount" section, you'll see two drop-downs.
- Set the "Promote signing up for a newsletter on your home page" to "Yes."
- Use the "If "Yes" above, offer a one-time discount on a purchase when signing up for the newsletter?" drop-down to set your discount percentage. You may update this to 10%, 15%, or 20%.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save Your Changes.
