This help document helps answer questions similar to "Why is it making me add more than one item (e.g., nine or twelve) in order to buy something or place an order?"
A retailer can set a price floor for their brands to require a minimum product quantity's total dollar amount to meet or exceed the amount shown. If a product total is above the amount, the customer can purchase a quantity of one or more online. If the product's total is below the amount, the shopping cart automatically places a quantity of items (e.g., nine) in the 'add to shopping bag' field that will meet or exceed the price floor.
If this is occurring, please contact the store directly to place an order for the product.
