Shop Local features a Single Sign-On (SSO) system that allows members who are logged into their site to automatically be logged into other Shop Local sites they may visit. This is most commonly used when a retail member is visiting a brand or distributor Shop Local site.
Being logged in on the site being visited allows you to perform member-to-member actions such as:
- Viewing private pricing.
- Placing wholesale orders.
- Sending messaging to the brand/distributor from their site.
SSO works automatically behind the scenes and you will know its working correctly when you visit a site and the same black logged-in bar you see on your own site also shows on the site you are visiting albeit with less administration links. You will often see a Shopping Bag button with the name of the brand if that brand/distributor offers and you are authorized to make wholesale purchases.
On occasion the SSO might not automatically log you in as expected when visit another member's site. In that case, please attempt the following troubleshooting options before contacting support as we have found these often rectify the issue:
SSO Troubleshooting Steps
- Try logging out of your Shop Local account completely on your own site. Then re-login and then try to visit the other member's site again. This provides a clean reset of the SSO.
- If the above doesn't fix the issue, when you visit the other member's site please navigate to the Login page on the visited site by clicking the "Login" or "Login Help" links at the top of any page on the visiting site. Doing so will trigger a manual firing of the SSO system automatically and often this will log you in.
If you are still having issue logging into another member's site to browse or place a wholesale order, please reach out us for further support at support@shoplocal.org
