One of the most important things that your business can do is have your brides add a link on their official wedding website leading back to your site.
Why?
Friends and family often start their shopping for the bride on her official wedding website. And each gift registry you have at your store is potentially worth $1,000s in sales. But these sales won't occur if the bride's friends and family don't know that she is registered with your store. If you're not listed on the bride's official site, your store might as well not exist. We therefore have to ensure that the bride adds a link on her official wedding website (which is often at The Knot, Zola, or MyRegistry.com) leading to her registry on your website.
Please follow the steps below to confirm the registry link has been added properly on the bride's official wedding website, and how to update their profile to report that this has been completed.
Confirm the Registry Link Has Been Added Properly
To confirm if the bride has added her link correctly, you'll start by visiting her wedding website.
If the registrant has already added their wedding website to their registry profile with your store, you may simply visit the listed website (there will be a blue View website button next to their URL) and look for a link to your store.
If the registrant has not already added their wedding website to their registry profile, please follow the steps below:
- Log in to your Shop Local.
- In the admin navigation at the top of the page, roll over Registry and click Gift Lists.
- Navigate to the bride for whom you want to research.
- On the bride's listing, to the far right, is a Find on Google button. Click this.
- Shop Local's software will open a new browser tab. A Google search result will appear, automatically inputting the registrants' names and "wedding." One of the first results will likely be their official wedding website.
NOTE: If the registrant has not entered their wedding website onto their registry profile, and you have Googled their site to confirm this step, we recommend copying the URL for their website and entering it into their profile on their behalf.
What if the Registrant Hasn't Added a Link?

Reporting The Link Has Been Added Properly
1. Log in to your Shop Local.
2. In the admin navigation at the top of the site, hover over Registry and click Gift Lists.
3. Navigate to the registry for which you want to validate the steps.
4. To the far right of the registrant's name on the Gift Lists page, there is a progress bar. This progress bar will show how many steps the registrant has marked completed. Click on the progress bar to be taken to the registrant's Profile & Settings page.
NOTE: If a registrant has checked all five steps, a red "Action Needed" bar will appear. Clicking on the "validate registrant's 5 steps" link in that red bar will take you to the same page. You may still validate that a registrant has completed the steps even if she has not checked them off.
5. Scroll down to the Administrative ~ Only Viewable by Merchant area on the Profile & Settings page. The admin area has a light gray background. There, you will see a Complete 5-Step Bonus section.
6. In the Complete 5-Step Bonus section, click the blue Confirm Now link after step #3 (Added link to wedding website).
7. Scroll down and click the green Save Registry Profile button.
