When a retailer places a wholesale order via Shop Local, you will receive an email. You are responsible for this order, just like them calling you.
Below are the steps to handle the order:
- Enter the order in your wholesale portal (e.g., MarketTime).
- Log in to your Shop Local account (e.g. salesrepname.myshoplocal.com).
- Click Orders at the top of the page to access your Orders home page.
- On the Orders home page, under "View," click Wholesale.
- On the Wholesale Orders page, click an order's ID to open the order's Details page.
- If you are responsible for an order, you'll see a blue alert that says "The sales rep is responsible for handling this [brand] wholesale order via Shop Local." This confirms that the brand has assigned you to be responsible for wholesale orders
- By default, the payment status is set to "Paid: Merchant will pay per terms vendor designates." You it's unlikely you will need to adjust this.
- You will need to update the Order Status drop down. From the drop down choices, select "Complete: Order entered in wholesale portal." Then, click Save Order Status.
Remember: Be sure to enter the order in the wholesale ordering system your brand uses.
Tips:
- A brand can assign sales reps to be responsible for a wholesale order.
- The brand will only receive a summary report email and can see the order in their Wholesale Orders area. However, since you are managing the order, the brand will not need to take action on the alert.
- You will receive an email alert about the order and will log into your Shop Local account to update the order’s status.
