By adding a link to your Wix website leading to your Shop Local Store, you'll:

Please see below for written instructions on how to add a link on your Wix site that leads to your Shop Local Store, as well as examples of retailers who have done so.

A. INSTRUCTIONS

1. Log in to your Wix account. 
   Note: If you have multiple sites linked to your login, please click the official website used for your store.
    

2. On the Dashboard, in the top right-hand corner, click Design Site.

   

3. A new tab will open, taking you into an Editor mode for your official website. Click on the navigation menu in the header of your website to edit. (If successful, a green box will appear around it with "Menu" appearing in the bottom left-hand corner.)
    

4. Once your header navigation has been selected, click Manage Menu at the top of the page.

   

5. A floating window will appear. Click the blue + Add Item link at the bottom, followed by the Link or anchor option.

   

   

6. A smaller pop-up window will appear. This is where you'll enter the URL to its respective page and select how the link opens in a web browser.
   If we are adding a link to your Shop Local Gift Registry, you will:
   1. Make sure that Web address is selected at the top of the window.
   2. In the Web Address field, paste in your Shop Local Gift Registry Home page URL. It will resemble this: 
      https://yourstorename.myshoplocal.com/registry.cfm
   3. Select Current tab under "Choose how it opens" to ensure the link opens within the same window as your official website. 
      (Reason: If you open the link in a new window, and the customer browses back to your site, and then back to your Shop Local Store, there will be too many windows open.)

   4. Click the blue Done button.

      

7. Once the window has closed, you will be able to name the link. This is how it appears in the menu header. For example, if you've added a gift registry link, you will name it "Gift Registry". When you are satisfied, click the blue Done button beside the name.
    

8. You can click and drag the navigation buttons to rearrange the order of the links. The page will automatically save.

   

9. You can then preview your Wix site to view your changes.
