Help Document: Add a Link on Your Wix Site Leading To Your Shop Local Store

This page shows you how to add a link to your Shop Local Store in a Wix 'menu.'

Log in to your Wix account.
Note: If you have multiple sites linked to your login, please click the official website used for your store.
On the Dashboard, in the top right-hand corner, click Design Site.
A new tab will open, taking you into an Editor mode for your official website. In the left-hand menu, find the Pages & Menu icon and click on it.
Your "Site Menu" will appear first. Click the blue Add Menu Item button at the bottom, followed by the Link option.
A small pop-up window will appear. This is where you'll enter the URL to its respective page and select how the link opens in a web browser.
If we are adding a link to your Shop Local Gift Registry, you will:
- A. Make sure that Web address is selected on the left-hand side.
- B. In the URL field, paste in your registry website address. It will resemble this: https://yourstorename.myshoplocal.com/registry.cfm
- C. Select Current window under "How does it open?" to ensure the link opens within the same window as your official website. Reason: If you open the link in a new window, and the customer browses back to your site, and then back to your Shop Local Store, there will be too many windows open.
- D. Click the blue Done button.
Once the window has closed, you will have the opportunity to name the link. This is how it appears in the menu header. For example, if you've added a gift registry link, you will name it "Gift Registry". When you are satisfied, click the blue Done button beside the name.
You can click and drag the navigation buttons to rearrange the order in which the links are appearing.
Click the blue Save button at the top right-hand side of the page to save your changes.
You can then preview your Wix site to view your changes.
