Shop Local allows you to place wholesale orders for your authorized brands directly from your Shop Local account.
Benefits to you:
- Faster: Retailers & interior designers save 7 minutes by placing an order through Shop Local Wholesale and reduce the steps needed to place an order by 50%. While the traditional order takes 7 steps, a Shop Local Wholesale order takes 3.
- More convenient: Retailers can view past orders from many different brands on their own Shop Local account. For example, instead of visiting 10 brand sites to view past orders, the retailer can simply stay on its own account and view all 10 brands' orders.
- Easier to use & more accurate: Shop Local Wholesale helps retailers and interior designers purchase exactly what they want. Wholesale marketplaces are often filled with thousands of products and require a lot of searching, creating an opportunity for finding the wrong item.
- Speed products to market: A retailer can purchase a product on a brand's Shop Local account and have it in its Shop Local Store instantly. This greatly shrinks the time it takes to get the product from the wholesaler's site (backdoor) to the retailer's site (front door).
- Sales reps are still involved: Shop Local Wholesale does not cut out sales reps. They are included in the process, alerted about orders, and can receive full commissions.
Cost for Retailers and Designers
- $0: There is no charge for retailers, designers, or reps to use the Wholesale Service.
- Brands and distributors pay for the Wholesale Service.

Request Access to Place Wholesale Orders with a Brand
To place a wholesale order using Shop Local, you must first request access to the Syncing Brands of which you are an authorized user.
Please follow the steps below to request wholesale access and ask a brand to be an authorized dealer:
- Log in to your Shop Local account.
- At the top of your account, roll over Products and click Wholesale Ordering to open your Wholesale Manager page.
- The Wholesale Manager page will list all brands participating in the Syncing Brand Service that offer wholesale ordering and your store is connected or synced with.
- If a brand that you sell is not yet synced with your store, please follow the steps in this support doc to add a Syncing Brand to your Store: https://www.shoplocal.org/help-center.cfm/2/Add-a-Brand-to-Your-Bridge-Store-or-Account.
- On the Wholesale Manager page, find the brand for which you wish to request wholesale access.
The Wholesale Ordering column will show one of the following options for a Brand Syncing brand:- Place Wholesale Order: You are approved to make wholesale purchases.
- Request Wholesale Purchasing Access: You can request approval from a brand to view wholesale pricing and make wholesale purchases.
- Request Sent: You have already submitted a request for wholesale purchasing to a brand.
- To request wholesale access, click the green Request Wholesale Purchasing Access button.
- A modal will appear saying "I want to request approval from [brand] to view wholesale pricing and make wholesale purchases." Click Send Request.
This will alert the brand that you’d like wholesale access. Once the brand approves your request, you'll receive an email alerting you that it has approved your business.
Once approved, you will visit the brand's Shop Local account to make wholesale purchases.
Placing a Wholesale Order
After receiving approval from authorized brands that are using the Wholesale Service, retailers and designers can begin placing wholesale orders through their Shop Local Store.
To place a wholesale order:
- Navigate to the desired brand on your Shop Local Store.
- At the top of the brand's page, select Place Wholesale Order. This will take you to the brand's Shop Local account. Note: You should still be logged into your Shop Local account while viewing the brand's Shop Local page.
- Locate the item you wish to order by searching for the SKU or locating it within a collection.
- Update the desired quantity and click the green Add to Wholesale Shopping Bag button.
- A modal will appear. You'll have the option to continue shopping or go to checkout.
- Once you have the desired products in your wholesale shopping bag, you can continue to the Checkout Order Form page.
- You will enter vital information, such as a purchase order, if the items are to be drop-shipped, sales rep information, etc. Once completed, you will select Next.
- You will be taken to the Review & Place Your Wholesale Order page, where you'll have access to the terms and conditions for the brand. After reviewing and correcting or adding the required information, you will select Place Your Order.
Once you have successfully placed a wholesale order:
- You will receive an order confirmation via email. This order is also visible on your Orders page.
- The brand will receive an order alert via email for processing.
- The assigned sales rep will receive an order alert via email.

You may view the ordering terms for your Syncing Brands at any time.

Where to View Wholesale Orders
All wholesale orders will appear on the Orders page of your Shop Local account under the Wholesale tab.
To view wholesale orders on the Orders page, please:
- Log in to your Shop Local account.
- Click on Orders in the admin navigation at the top of your Shop Local account.
- On the Orders page, click on the blue Wholesale link to be taken to the "My Wholesale Orders" page.
Note: You may also simply hover over Orders in the admin navigation at the top of your Shop Local account and click View Wholesale Orders You Placed in the right-hand column.
Your 5 most recent wholesale orders will also appear on your Dashboard.
The Syncing Brand will update the order status and may include tracking information. As seen above, this information will be available via your Shop Local account.
