Your business can share stock with your authorized retailers and sales reps. Sharing stock helps your stores sell more. It also helps your stores make quicker decisions and reduces telephone calls.

In the example shown, a retailer is logged in to its website and viewing a Vietri wine glass. The retailer can see that there are 263 glasses in stock, and that Vietri reported this stock level today.

You determine which businesses can see stock. Only authorized, approved dealers and reps can see stock, and they can only see it when logged in to Shop Local. General public visitors can't see this stock information.

How to Activate Stock Sharing:

1. Log in to your Shop Local account.
    
2. Visit your Shop Local Brand Settings page (Hover over Management > Click Brand Settings).
    
3. Update "Show Stock" to Yes.
   1. Select if you wish to show "In-stock" or "Out of Stock" and not the actual number, OR show number of items in stock (E.g. "Stock: 4").

   2. Select if you wish to show stock to only authorized businesses when they are logged in to Shop Local (e.g. your retailers and sales reps), OR to everyone, including to public when not logged in. 

      

4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save Your Changes.
    

How to Update Stock:

1. Manually upload stock to your Shop Local site. To manually update stock, please follow the steps below:
   1. Log in to your Shop Local account.
   2. Hover over Products. From the drop-down menu, click Mass Update via Excel.
   3. In step 1, select Stock in the drop-down menu.
      
      
   4. Follow the tips on how to format the Excel file, then validate the file to ensure it is formatted correctly.
      
      
   5. Complete the step to compare the data in the Excel file to the data on Shop Local.
   6. Select the Excel file to upload and click Update.
       
2. Email an Excel file with stock to [email protected].
    
3. FTP the file to Shop Local. Please contact Shop Local for FTP information. The FTP method can be automated and is often more efficient and accurate.
